ABOUT

Angela Guerra Walley is a San Antonio and Houston based multidisciplinary artist known for her advocacy of contemporary visual and performing arts through her filmmaking with Walley Films and as the frontwoman of the band Dreambored. She co-founded Walley Films, an independent video production studio, in 2010 with her partner and twenty-year collaborator, Mark Lee Walley. Together in 2017 they started the indie pop band, Dreambored.

Angela made her feature-length directorial debut in 2018 with Tia Chuck: A Portrait of Chuck Ramirez. In 2020 her band released their cathartic album, Loved Ones. Angela’s first collection of poetry celebrating her queer and polyamorous relationships, Last Chance for a Sun, was released in May 2023. Her solo exhibition, We Are Quilted Together, was on view at Artpace San Antonio May 4th - September 3rd, 2023. She writes and performs original music under her own name and is currently producing a solo album, Harsh Like the Sun, and contributing songs to Dreambored's sophomore album, Lovers. On Valentine’s Day 2023 Angela and Mark celebrated their twentieth anniversary and established Guerra Walley Archive with the mission of preserving and cataloguing their collective body of work.

Angela works from her home studio south of downtown San Antonio, bringing together all her passions into a single multidisciplinary art practice as a unifying act of personal healing.
