Flames for the Pyre was a site-specific installation created from quilted clothing, dried altar flowers, and fallen tree branches.

Courtney Wynn Sheets presented The MEMENTOMORIUM, a group exhibition that brings together a diverse group of artists who were drawn to exploring their ideas & feelings around what mortality, decomposition, aging, morbid anatomy, spirituality and death mean to them. There will be mixed media expressions including drawing, painting, collage, photography, sculpture, ceramics, dance and poetry. The idea for the show was inspired by the genre “memento mori” that was birthed in medieval times during the duration of the Black Plague. This gave people at that time a way to cope with the massive sudden death they saw happening around them. The latin phrase memento mori translates to “remember we will die.”
